Zycko (South Cerney, UK) has entered into an agreement with Isilon Systems (Seattle, WA) to distribute Isilon's range of next-generation clustered storage solutions to the market in EMEA. Zycko will launch Isilon's portfolio of products in the UK and Europe and develop a strong market base for the company.
Partnering with Isilon provides Zycko with a next-generation NAS storage solution, complementing its existing portfolio of storage solutions and addressing growing customer demand for solutions specifically designed for the storage of unstructured data and digital content.
Isilon combines its OneFS distributed file system with modular, best-of-breed, industry-standard hardware. Its solutions intelligently stripe data across nodes in a cluster to create a single, shared pool of storage that can be used across a wide range of applications including the production, analysis, delivery and archiving of digital content, unstructured data and reference information. The applications can be managed and accessed from a single point, simplifying the storage infrastructure for customers, easing the complexities of storage management and lowering the cost of ownership.
"Zycko's strategy is to work with the best-of-breed vendors and introduce innovative and proven technologies to our reseller community," commented David Galton-Fenzi, Zycko's Group Sales Director. "Unstructured data and digital content such as audio files, video, graphics and large digital files demand a more scalable dynamic architecture in managing the rapid growth and management issues this produces. Instead of investing in more storage systems, companies should look at scalable solutions from companies such as Isilon which are specifically designed to meet the long term needs of digital storage cost-effectively and simply."
"Isilon has enjoyed dramatic growth this year in the US across many industries including media and entertainment, oil and gas, manufacturing, digital and document imaging and financial services. We are confident that there is strong market demand in the UK for Isilon's solutions and we are already seeing a significant pipeline of business. Our extensive network of experienced storage resellers and strong customer base will ensure that Isilon makes a real impact on the UK storage market," he added.
