Stantron Press Release

Mayville, Wisconsin, July 24, 2007 - Stantron™ Racks, a division of APWMayville™ and a leader in rack and enclosure solutions for the broadcast and audio/visual industries, announces the availability of IEC power cords for its robust range of Stantron™ custom rack solutions. The cords are available with all Stantron racks, including the E Rack for broadcast facilities and the Presentation Rack for A/V facilities; and a complete range of Stantron accessories for power, lighting and cooling that are designed to deliver complete, custom rack solutions to professional integrators.

The company's IEC (International Electric Code) power cords are standardized to provide the proper prong configuration for both U.S. and international voltages and amperages. The cords make it virtually impossible to draw more current than the corresponding wall outlet or power strip circuit can provide, eliminating the risk of fires from overheated wiring.

"This line of power cords offers a practical and effective solution to cable management, cooling and maintenance issues that all IT system managers face. Properly sized IEC cords also save valuable time during installation and maintenance. We are pleased to add this to our growing range of rack and cabinet solutions," said Rich Runnels, Director of Sales for APWMayville™ and Stantron™ Racks. "Our IEC cords offer integrators and engineers a very simple and cost-effective solution to commons data system problems."

The cords are available in a variety of lengths so that installers can plug the necessary equipment or appliances into their power source and eliminate the need to manage excess cord within an enclosure. In a situation where a customer needs to supply power to dozens of units within an enclosure system, by using cords supplied with the equipment, an installer could be faced with as much as 60 extra feet of unnecessary cable. The excess bulk would clutter the area, making routine maintenance difficult. Proper air flow and efforts to keep the equipment cool would also become compromised, which could lead to heat buildup and possible equipment failure.

Stantron IEC power cords work extremely well when combined with the company's PowerMount™ system to further simplify cable management. Stantron PowerMount systems carry out the basic function of holding power strips in place with several bonus features, including power strip rotation (a full 180 degrees) within the rack. Angling the power strips to correspond to the location of the equipment inlets creates a straight line from the power to the equipment. This keeps cables and wires out of the center of the enclosure and reduces the risks of accidental disconnects, power interruptions and data loss. Use of the system also improves overall airflow and enhances equipment cooling since cabling is removed from the air path. PowerMount systems can also scale easily as power demands increase.
