BLACKWOOD, N.J., Dec. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Metrologic Instruments,Inc. (Nasdaq: MTLG), today announced that the Advanced Optical Systems Division of its Adaptive Optics Associates, Inc. ("AOA") subsidiary has received additional funding on a previously announced $25 million subcontract.

Funding for this subcontract has been increased to $15.9 million from the previously announced $9.7 million level with approximately $7.8 million of revenue recognized through October 31, 2005 . The period of performance for the entire contract is expected to last through the end of the first quarter of 2008. It will be incrementally funded through that period. Payments under the contract will be made to AOA on a cost-plus-fee basis.

Jeffrey Yorsz, AOA's President and General Manager stated, "AOA will continue to utilize its expertise and technical resources to meet our customer's expectations for this very important program."

For proprietary reasons, this customer has requested that Metrologic not release its name.
