2006 JAN 15 - (NewsRx.com) -- Clario Medical Imaging has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for their z3D Contrast Acuity software.
z3D will be initially distributed to customers through a license agreement with Confirma, Inc., and Invivo Corp.
z3D Contrast Acuity uses advanced computer graphics to enhance visualization of medical images to aid diagnosis and increase radiologist efficiency. z3D is used to assist in the efficient analysis of multimodality, digital images, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography, x-ray, positron emission tomography, and nuclear medicine images.
"Clario is committed to offering innovative tools to increase visual efficiency when interpreting medical images," said Chris Wood, president and CEO, Clario Medical Imaging. "We are beginning by offering z3D through Confirma and Invivo, where it will assist radiologists with the interpretation of dynamic studies in these CAD [computer-aided diagnosis] systems."
The growing number of medical images has created a demand for improved visualization technologies. Clario Medical Imaging is focused on creating tools to improve visual efficiency to help aid in diagnosis. Combining z3D with CAD for MRI helps provide radiologists with the tools they need, according to the company.
