Wayne, NJ, July 31, 2008 —Several Fujinon Cine-Style lenses were used on the set of the feature film, Tekken, which is based on the hugely popular video game series. The movie is the story of a young man who discovers he holds a great power and must battle a team of elite fighters who will stop at nothing in order to get it from him. The film has just completed shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana and will be released next year.
The production company, Crystal Sky Pictures, chose several Fujinon lenses for the project: the HA42X13.5BERD Super Telephoto ENG style lens, HAc15X7.3B Compact High Performance Cine Zoom and HAc13X4.5B Compact Cine-Style Super Wide Angle zoom lenses mounted on Sony F23 cameras.
The film features an ensemble cast, including: Kelly Overton (The Ring Two), Jon Foo (Batman Begins), Ian Anthony Dale (The Bucket List), and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Memoirs of a Geisha, Planet of the Apes).
Digital Imaging Director and 2nd unit Director of Photography, Sean Fairburn, recommended Fujinon lenses for the shoot because they offer more focal lengths, better hand held and user control at both the operator and engineer's end. With production recently completed, Fairburn is confident his decision to use Fujinon glass was a good one.
"We fell in love with the way the images looked," reported Fairburn. "The F23 is an amazing HD camera, with cleaner edges than I've ever seen in any other digital camera of any kind and obviously the quality of a camera's image starts with its lens."
