SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 2006-- Fabrinet Now a World-Class Manufacturing Outsourcing Destination That Meets the Quality Requirements for the Entire Spectrum of Telecommunications Companies
Fabrinet, a recognized leader in providing engineering and manufacturing services for complex optical, electrical, and precision electro-mechanical devices, announced it has received TL 9000QMS Certification for Manufacturing of Electronic Assemblies and Optical Devices. Certification was given to both of Fabrinet's campuses near Bangkok, Thailand where Fabrinet has over 500,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space and over 4500 employees.
"Receiving TL9000 certification represents a culmination of our efforts to make Fabrinet a world-class manufacturing outsourcing destination for companies throughout the telecommunications spectrum, from component vendors to system vendors," said Tom Mitchell, Chairman and CEO of Fabrinet. "Being TL 9000 certified means that Fabrinet can now meet the quality requirements of the worldwide telecommunications industry."
The TL 9000 Quality Management System (QMS) was created by QuEST Forum to meet the quality requirements of the worldwide telecommunications industry. It defines quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation, and maintenance of telecom products and services, and provides a measurement system that, when implemented, allows companies to track performance and improve results. Its telecommunications focus eliminates the need for multiple quality management standards, reduces the cost of doing business, and ultimately results in better products and services to consumers. It provides a consistent set of quality expectations needed to drive efficiency and performance across the global telecom supply chain.
"Tom Mitchell's founding vision of Fabrinet was to establish an extremely sophisticated, high quality telecommunications operations infrastructure in a low cost geography," explained Nat Mani, Fabrinet's Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. "Today, Fabrinet is a recognized world leader as an outsourced manufacturing service provider of complex optical and precision electromechanical components and modules. We have highly regarded manufacturing processes and disciplines, superior process engineering, and rigorous IP protection. Achieving TL 9000 certification further solidifies our service offerings and assures Tier One telecom system vendors that we can meet their most stringent standards."
