Batch-fed slide scannerBATCH-FED SLIDE SCANNER
The Powerslide 3600 scans batches of mounted slides automatically, creating high-quality digital files that can be stored to hard disk, zip drive, CD-R, CD-RW or other storage media. The Powerslide turns all slides into a digital format, allowing slide shows to be viewed in TV, LCD projector, computer monitor, e-mail or Website format. The Powerslide 3600 slide tray allows users to scan up to 50 2" x 2" slides per batch run. It operates at 3600 dpi optical resolution, which produces a digital image of approximately 28 Megapixels. The Powerslide 3600 3.8 dynamic range is capable of reading the full scale (from white to black) that can be recorded by film. Its 48-bit data conversion capability records 16 bits of information for each of three colors (red, blue and green) translating into the ability to record more than 279 trillion distinct colors. High-end computer nodesHIGH-END COMPUTER NODES
The V2G4c and V4G4c computing nodes are used for demanding applications requiring high-performance real-time data and signal processing, including sonar, radar, medical imaging and machine vision systems. The new 6U VME VxG4c features two or four 500 MHz Motorola Power PC 7410 (G4) processors with AltiVec vector processing units. The unit has a local bus speed of 133 MHz. The on-board PowerPC processors utilize massively shared memory architecture to access up to 1 GB SDRAM memory in real-time with low latency. The new computing node provides multi-CPU support, including two PCI/PMC slots with an Avignon crossbar, a 64 KB L1 and a 2MB L2 cache for each processor, as well as external I/O support. The Quad processor version of the V4G4c has 50-Watt power consumption. The Dual version of the board, the V2G4c, has 38-Watt power consumption. The new system is available in a variety of conduction-and convection- cooled environmental classes. THALES. Raleigh, NC.
