The VN-MATRIX from Electrosonic, is a standalone hardware video or graphics encoder/decoder for real-time streaming over IP networks at resolutions up to UXGA (1600x1200). The compression algorithms deployed are based on the discrete wavelet transform. Real-time encoding and decoding eliminates time consuming intermediate processes to prepare content for network transmission. The same physical unit may be configured to encode or decode. Multicast support allows streams to be viewed at many locations simultaneously. The lossless compression transforms use low network bandwidth and the systems has a high tolerance for network faults.
