Special Optics, Inc., (Rochester, N.Y.) a Navitar company and manufacturer of high precision ultraviolet (UV) optical systems, has expanded its range of UV lenses to include a high N.A. UV microscope objective with a numerical aperture of 0.90. This is a great compliment to Special Optics current high N.A. UV line which includes 0.75 N.A. and 0.50 N.A. objectives. Designed for customers who required a higher level of performance over standard microscope objectives, the high N.A. UV micro objective provides 0.28 micron spot imaging at a wavelength of 248nm and 0.41 micron spot imaging at a wavelength of 365nm. The effective focal length is 5.5mm and the field of view is a 100 microns. It is diffraction-limited with less than 0.07 waves RMS wave front distortion over the entire field of view. www.specialoptics.com
