MVTec Software GmbH (Munich, Germany) is launching the new version of HALCON, its software library. The development of version 8.0 already is complete and the subsequent test phase is running.
HALCON 8.0 will be available in June 2007 and will provide more than 100 new operators. For typical applications, the speed of the entire software library was enhanced by 25 percent, single operators by up to 500 percent. HALCON's IDE (integrated development environment) for machine vision, HDevelop and HDevEngine, now provide assistance to simplify the generation of frequently used operator sequences. www.mvtec.com
AccuSoft® Corporation, (Northborough, Mass.), a supplier of imaging SDKs, image processing and data analysis software, is shipping major new releases of three of its ImageGear® imaging toolkits. ImageGear Professional version 15, ImageGear Enterprise version 15 and ImageGear MD version 15 offer imaging application software developers many new features. They include JPIP compression streaming protocol support, the ability to read and write vector data, enhancements to PDF file editing, medical waveform support and more. They support the new Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.
Some features in the toolkits include support for the JPIP protocol, a compression streaming protocol that works with JPEG 2000 to produce an image using the least required bandwidth. Version 15 products now support rendering solid 3D vector data with adjustable lighting as well as wireframe 3D vector data with no lighting. Developers can create applications that read and write to SVG and cost-effective applications that allow users to annotate and collaborate with CAD drawings without the need to purchase a CAD software package. www.accusoft.com
