How do you think the new GigE standards will influence the machine vision industry?

Since the start of Spectrum Illumination, we realized that we needed to be different if we were going to succeed in the vision lighting market. We offer a full solution product (light, cable, and strobe driver) for a low cost price. While we continue to add new lights to our Monster line, we asked ourselves what could we be doing better?
After requests by many of our customers for a lighting controller, we have developed the Monster Brain. The Monster Brain is an Ethernet controller with an embedded web server that allows configuration using a web browser, no software to install. It is capable of controlling multiple LDM drivers from a single trigger input via DIN rail bus connector.
Four strobe channels have independent on, off and delay times with burst mode setting. If used with ALDM drivers up to three of the strobe channels can be set to control the light intensity with 0-10V outputs. The light output can be adjusted independently on three of the channels from 10 percent to 100 percent current output. Two camera trigger outputs with programmable delays can be used to ensure that the light is at 100 percent before taking an image. Up to 32 product ID settings can be stored and selected via web page or hardware inputs. The trigger input has a programmable debounce setting to block false triggers. The scheduled release for this new product is the 1st quarter of 2007.
