COMPACT CCD SENSOR & BOARD CAMERA

The IC257 CCD array sensor, manufactured by Sony, is notable
for wedding less-than-tiny resolution (500x582) with compact
size--just 1.8mm. That's 41% of the chip area of the comparable
ICX097 model, making this version a potential design choice
for endoscopes or micro-cameras. German vendor Framos
has intro'd this version in the European PAL TV format.
They're also offering a new VGA black-and-white CCD board
camera, the BCC-101, with options of random and normal
shutter modes, gamma on/off, auto/manual gain, and C/CS-
or D-mount connections.

FULL-FRAME
INTERLACE FOR MEDICAL X-RAY
The new 8000 model of the mobile "C-Arms Exposcop" diagnostic
x-ray imaging system enables the entire image processing chain
to operate in non-interlaced mode, enhancing the dynamic range,
making previously invisible structures visible, reducing noise,
and reducing the radiation dose to the patient by 30% in switching
from slower interlace scanning. Digital image rotation and
mirroring, virtual collimation, laser positioning, and automatic
organ adjustment add to the radiation decrease.

MEGAPIXEL INDUSTRIAL COLOR CAMERA
Designed to combine speed and accuracy for PCB inspection,
microscopy, medical imaging, or traffic monitoring, the new
CV-M7 color megapixel camera employs proprietary sample/hold
and Correlated Double Sampling to achieve double-speed readout
while maintaining range and image fidelity--at 1300x1300 resolution
and 24 frames per second. Incorporating a 2/3-inch color CCD,
this camera uses a monochrome frame grabber and a Bayer pattern
RGB primary mosaic filter, with Bayer decoding done on the
CPU of an 800 MHz Pentium II, or on the board. Camera Link
is available as an output configuration.
