Responding to changes in the marketplace, Hitachi has made a major commitment in the past year to FireWireŽ cameras as customers continue to look for solutions that eliminate frame grabbers. Recently we introduced the KP-FD140F, KP-F140F, KP-FD32F, KP-F32F and KP-F83F FireWireŽ 800 cameras to compliment our existing line of FireWireŽ A cameras. The new FireWireŽ 800 standard increases the speed to 800 Mbps from 400 Mbps, allowing higher frame rates at higher resolutions. This brings the total count of FireWireŽ cameras in the Hitachi product line to eight; four monochrome; two single CCD color; and two 3CCD color with resolutions ranging from VGA to UXGA. All of the cameras include a trigger input for use in industrial applications, and each includes the driver and viewer software as part of the package. Even as Hitachi continues to develop new FireWireŽ cameras, we have recognized the emergence of new standards and have began development work on a new line of GigE cameras, which we will be introducing in the next 12 months.
