Sunex, Inc. launches a new wide-angle lens designed for security and automotive applications. The DSL228 features a compact design, wide field of view and predictable distortion characteristics suitable for dewarping.
The DSL228 is optimized for 1/4" format CMOS sensors with multi-megapixel resolution. The horizontal field of view is 75 degrees on a 1/4" sensor. The relative aperture of F/2.0 provides good low-light performance.
The DSL228 is designed to meet the stringent size and environmental demands of automotive and security applications. To withstand a wide range of temperatures the lens construction is aluminum with glass elements. The DSL228 also features a small form factor of 14mm maximum diameter and less than 20mm total track. An IR cut-off coating is integrated into the lens design. Lenses without the IR cut-off coating, suitable for near-IR cameras, are also available. Sunex Optical Carlsbad, Calif. www.optics-online.com
