Jos. Schneider Optische Werke GmbH has introduced a new line of Bandpass filters designed to enable system integrators and equipment manufacturers to improve the image quality of their machine vision systems.

Schneider’s new Bandpass filters enhance the image contrast capabilities of vision systems that use advanced LED lighting. The filters attach to CCD or CMOS camera lenses, and allow light of their specified transmission wavelength (the pass band) to pass through while blocking any light wavelengths shorter or longer than the pass band. By matching the respective pass band of the filter with the emission wavelength of the lighting source, vision system operators can significantly reduce noise from ambient light, to optimize the image contrast of the vision system.
