Point Grey Research® Inc announced the introduction of its new 2.0MP Flea®2 camera. This high resolution model of the Flea2 series of ultra compact IEEE-1394b cameras incorporates the Sony® ICX274 1/1.8” progressive scan CCD image sensor with square pixel array.
The new 2.0MP Flea2 camera can deliver full resolution 1624x1224 images at 14 FPS, and contains the core features of the Flea2 family, including jack screw connectors for secure locking, pixel binning and regions of interest modes via Format_7 and in-field firmware upgrades. Additional features include on-camera color processing and white balance, automatic synchronization of multiple cameras, external trigger and strobe output, and low power consumption. All Point Grey Research imaging products also include the FlyCapture® software development kit (SDK) for image acquisition and camera control.
At 29x29x30mm, the Flea2 is one of the smallest 1394b cameras in the world, and its mechanical components, such as the C-mount lens holder and camera mount, have been designed to industry standards. The addition of the 2.0MP Flea2 camera gives users eight models to choose from, making it a versatile, cost effective choice for demanding imaging applications. Monochrome and color sensor options include the new 2.0 MP ICX274 (1624x1224 at 14 FPS), the 1.4MP ICX267 (1392x1032 at 15 FPS), the 0.8MP ICX204 (1032x776 at 30 FPS), and the 0.3MP ICX424 (648x488 at 80 FPS).
