-- The first public demonstration of a prototype widescreen PenTile RGBW wVGA display module. PenTile technology enables this 4.5-inch a-Si panel to display data with high visual resolution (800 x 480), while the widescreen format is optimal for video, gaming or web browsing, and it eliminates the need to scroll horizontally to view entire images on screen. An interactive demonstration will feature video and gaming applications.
-- A comparison between two identical LTPS panels -- one with PenTile RGBW technology and one without -- demonstrates how applying PenTile technology can help design engineers achieve a desirable balance of brightness and power. Visitors can double the brightness of the PenTile panel, or reduce its power consumption by half, and then compare the results both visually against the non-PenTile panel, and quantitatively on a photometer and power meter.
-- President and CEO Joel Pollack will speak at the Exhibitors' Forum on reducing power consumption in next-generation mobile device displays, critical for viewing lengthy multimedia applications without increasing battery size. The presentation is on Thursday, June 8 at 10:45 a.m. in room 123.
-- Clairvoyante founder and chief technology officer Candice Brown Elliott will present an invited paper on the challenges and solutions of developing high-pixel-density mobile displays on Friday, June 9 in room 102 beginning at 10:40 a.m.
